Linda Farchione Hawks and Dr. Barbara Risser
Hawks is retired as CEO of Thompson Health, after leading for 21 years. She is a United Way board member and Women’s Leadership Council Co-Chair. She is a member of the Rochester Region Excellus Board and a committee member of the Chamber Economic Development Committee and the Government Affairs committee. She is a 1993 recipient of the Canandaigua Athena Award, one of five women to receive the Fifty over Fifty Awards for the Rochester Business Journal, and selected by the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce to receive the 2012 Ms. Canandaigua Award.
Risser, president of Finger Lakes Community College, is a longtime United Way supporter and Women’s Leadership Council Member. She is actively involved in community affairs, including the Economic Development Committee for the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce, Ontario ARC Board of Directors, the CMAC Board of Directors, and the Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board, where she serves on the Executive Committee. She is the 2011 recipient of the Canandaigua Athena Award.
The United Way of Ontario County kicks off the campaign this spring with a “Help your community thrive” theme. The annual Day of Caring and Food Drive is scheduled for Thursday, April 21, followed by the Volunteer Celebration on Thursday, June 16 at Bristol Harbor and annual Golf Tournament at Ravenwood Golf Club on Wednesday, Aug. 17.
